OnePlus has begun distributing the stable Android 17 update to the OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 in India. This initial rollout arrives roughly a week before the company’s original schedule of October 29. These two models are the first devices to transition from the company’s long-standing OxygenOS interface to Oppo’s ColorOS.

OxygenOS started as a near-stock version of Android with limited custom features. Over time, it became a global variant of Oppo’s ColorOS. The phase-out was announced when OnePlus reduced its global operations, confirming that existing hardware would migrate to the new system. The software was available in beta for several months before this stable release opened for general users.

OnePlus framed the update as a shift toward seamless integration. The company stated that ColorOS 17 brings smarter experiences and smoother interactions. Its marketing slogan is "Flow with AI, Flow Everywhere." OnePlus said the goal is to reduce friction as users move between tasks and devices, using AI to help convert ideas into finished work.

The OnePlus 15 and Pad 4 are the only devices in this first wave. Other models have been confirmed for later updates, including previous generation flagships and various Nord models. The next scheduled release is October 30, which will include the OnePlus 13. The update is expected to reach other regions in the coming days, though specific dates beyond the India launch and the October 30 follow-up have not been confirmed.

This software shift follows recent changes for the brand. Reports indicate that the OnePlus 15 and other models sold out in the United States after the company shut down most of its global operations. OnePlus has also introduced the OnePlus 16, which features a 9,000 mAh battery.

The early delivery in India marks the practical end of the OxygenOS era for new updates. Users of the OnePlus 15 and Pad 4 can now access the final version of the software without waiting for the previously planned date.
