North Texas residents will navigate a crowded slate of Halloween activities before Oct. 31, with more than 100 events scheduled across The Colony, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Celina, and Fort Worth. Venues range from free public park festivals to paid adult excursions, creating a dense calendar of options for local families.

In The Colony, Stewart Creek Park hosts a free Family Fright Fest on Saturday, Oct. 24. The event includes hayrides, crafts, and trick-or-treating. Truck Yard runs a concurrent Halloween party at all six of its Dallas-Fort Worth locations, including a new Richardson site. Grandscape adds two events later in the week: a DJ-led dance party on Oct. 29 and a family-friendly extravaganza on Halloween night.

Frisco offers multiple options on Saturday. The PGA District hosts a pumpkin putting event and trick-or-treating from golf carts. The Frisco Heritage Center features decorated historic buildings and a fortune teller. Frisco Square holds a family event from 1 to 4 p.m. with inflatables and wagon rides. Omni PGA Frisco Resort operates a themed cocktail pop-up through Nov. 1, while Tostitos Championship Plaza hosts a free morning for children ages five and under on Oct. 28.

Plano's Downtown Arts District and Haggard Park will host a carnival-style festival on Saturday. The event includes live performances and themed drinks from Fillmore Pub. Legacy Hall in Plano holds a free parade and trick-or-treat event on Oct. 27, which features a film screening and a costume parade for pets.

McKinney venues are offering multi-day experiences. The Yard serves a seasonal menu through Oct. 31, including a cocktail that benefits a local dog rescue. The Stix Icehouse holds a trunk-or-treat event on Oct. 29 across its 14-acre property. On Halloween night, the Spooktacular Brews and Boos Walk guides costumed guests to more than 20 beverage stops in Historic Downtown McKinney.

Regional options extend to Fort Worth and Dallas. The Fort Worth Zoo runs its Boo at the Zoo event from Friday through Sunday. The ticket price includes six treat coupons, a pumpkin patch, and a train ride. Klyde Warren Park in Dallas hosts its sixth annual trick-or-treat event on Saturday, which includes a book giveaway and an outdoor film screening. Downtown Celina holds a festival with a haunted manor and more than 60 market vendors on the same day.

Adults can also participate in themed travel. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad operates a two-hour excursion on Oct. 30 and 31. The trip uses vintage 1920s coaches and includes Texas craft beer and spooky entertainment.
