Nothing has reduced the price of its Ear 3A wireless earbuds to $79 at Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy. The new price point is $20 below the standard cost and matches the all-time low for the product. All four color options are available at this discount.
The Ear 3A are positioned as a budget option with advanced features. They include active noise cancellation, extensive equalizer controls, and a unique shortcut to access ChatGPT. The device also contains 32MB of built-in storage, which allows users to record phone calls of up to two hours and transfer the audio files via a companion app.
For working families and consumers seeking value, the inclusion of these digital tools at the sub-$80 mark represents a shift in expectations for entry-level hardware. The ability to fine-tune sound profiles is a feature typically reserved for higher-end models. Verge contributor John Higgins noted that the default sound is bass-heavy but easy to adjust, a level of customization that is unusual for earbuds in this price range.
The hardware is not without technical quirks. Testing revealed bugs in the adaptive noise cancellation system, which sometimes caused abrupt changes in volume levels. Voice calls in noisy environments also experienced occasional issues. The noise cancellation effectively reduces low-frequency drones, such as air conditioners and airplane cabin noise, but it does not fully block out human chatter.
The earbuds come in several colors, including a distinct pink shade, and include extra-small ear tips for fit. The $79 price makes these specific features accessible to a wider audience. The sale is currently active across the three major US retailers.
