Fans of Sam Fender will pay 98.85 pounds for the most expensive standing tickets to his upcoming stadium tour. The 32-year-old singer lowered the price cap after online users criticized the initial pricing structure. The change removes a premium tier that previously charged 130.75 pounds for front standing positions.

The pricing dispute began after Gavin Davis posted details of the Wembley ticket listing on Instagram. That post showed a large gap between the front standing cost and standard standing seats, which were priced at 98.85 pounds. Seated options ranged from 64.75 pounds to 130.75 pounds. Davis and other followers argued that the spread was too wide for a pop rock show.

Fender responded directly to the post on his own Instagram account. He stated that the initial figures were not his final decision. The musician explained that the prices had been inflated beyond what he intended. He said any cost increase should cover the actual expenses of staging the show rather than adding a profit margin for ticketing partners.

The singer also scrapped the division of standing areas into front and back tiers. He called that practice "bollocks" and confirmed it would not be used for the Proper Massive tour. Fender noted that the system had become a standard norm in live music but would not be part of his event structure.

The high prices were not limited to London. Ticket listings for other cities also showed standing areas exceeding 100 pounds. The highest prices in the UK lineup were Edinburgh at 120.95 pounds, Manchester at 119.60 pounds, and Cardiff at 119 pounds. Newcastle listed top tickets at 112.90 pounds.

General sales for the tour start on Friday, with presales opening on Wednesday. The shows will take place across the summer of 2027 at major venues including St James’s Park in Newcastle, the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Marley Park in Dublin, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, and the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.

Fender is not the only artist addressing ticket costs. In August, Zara Larsson shared a TikTok video expressing frustration over expensive tickets for her Bangkok show. She said she wanted to be more involved in pricing to help fans who were deterred by the financial barrier. Fender also confirmed earlier this week that a fourth studio album is in the works. His recent success includes a Mercury prize win for his 2025 album People Watching and a Brit award for song of the year with Olivia Dean for the single Rein Me In, which spent 23 weeks at number one on the UK singles chart.
