The Anaheim Ducks led the Vancouver Canucks by three goals as late as the second period, but a late surge by Vancouver erased the advantage. The final score stood at 6-5 in favor of the visitors.
The game concluded in overtime at Honda Center on Tuesday. Vancouver snapped a ten-game losing streak with the win. The Ducks suffered their sixth defeat in their last seven games.
Filip Hronek scored the decisive goal with 10.4 seconds remaining in the extra period. The winner came during a 3-on-5 power play for Vancouver. Beckett Sennecke took a high-sticking penalty with 2:11 left, followed by Alex Killorn on a minor penalty with 26.6 seconds left. The sequence left the Ducks shorthanded for the final minute.
Vancouver outscored Anaheim 4-1 in the final 20 minutes of regulation. Jonathan Lekkerimaki scored twice with the goalie pulled. He assisted on Hronek's winner. Brock Boeser scored once and assisted on another goal. Elias Pettersson added two assists.
The Ducks built their early lead on a combination of power play scoring and odd-man rushes. Beckett Sennecke scored the team-leading goal for the season, his seventh, on a power play. Leo Carlsson added another goal on a rebound off Jeff Malott. Malott also scored his second goal of the season after a puck recovery.
A.J. Greer recorded two goals for Anaheim. Jackson LaCombe provided two primary assists and one secondary assist. Sam Colangelo added two assists. Lukasz Dostal stopped 27 shots. The Ducks killed the first penalty of the game and scored the first goal, an own goal off a deflection from Hronek's stick.
The second period featured a rapid exchange of goals. Vancouver tied the game at 6:36, but the Ducks regained the lead at 7:06. Carlsson extended the lead to 4-1 before Vancouver's penalty kill surrendered a goal just 28 seconds into its first infraction. The Canucks' penalty kill unit had the league-worst record entering this game.
Greer has four goals this season, all coming in his last five games. Carlsson has four goals in 2026-27. The Ducks' recent form mirrors a volatile pattern from the previous season, which included long winning and losing streaks.
