Jay-Z will perform the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The NFL, Apple Music, and the musician announced the selection on Monday.
The decision follows a recent shift in the halftime lineup. Roc Nation, which has produced the show since 2019, recently signed a five-year extension to keep the role through 2029. Since taking over, the events have featured more hip-hop and rap acts. Last year's show in Santa Clara centered on Bad Bunny, with guest spots for Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.
Los Angeles last hosted a Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2022. That performance featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, along with cameos by 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak. Other recent headliners include Rihanna in 2023, Usher in 2024, and Kendrick Lamar and SZA in 2025.
Jay-Z, a 25-time Grammy winner, has never headlined the event despite ties to previous performers. He is currently on tour to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. His tour began with three shows at Yankee Stadium in July, followed by two in London and one in Paris in September.
The rapper concluded his tour with two shows at SoFi Stadium on Oct. 23 and 24. Those dates occurred just weeks before the announcement. The venue will serve as the site for his upcoming February performance.
